Environmentally-Friendly, Waterless Dust Suppressant

DustLess® is used in traffic areas as a dust palliative (dust suppressant). It is proven non-toxic to people, pets, plants, fish and wildlife, and approved by many regulatory agencies. US EPA non-hazardous classification, DOT HAZ rating of 0, European Union REACH certification, California Water Board approval, US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) for use on SuperFund sites, FEMA, ATEC (US Military health and environmental standards), and many others. Clear and odorless, DustLess dust suppressant comes ready to use (no water or mixing required), making it perfect for applications at construction sites, unpaved roads, gravel parking lots, mining sites, and quarries.

DustLess soaks into the individual soil/dust particles and makes them too heavy to move, thus eliminating dust and providing fugitive dust control. It will look damp, but feel dry. It does not form a crust and never evaporates, and does not runoff substantially with rain (not water soluble).

DustLess lasts a very long time, typically providing you 9-12 months (or longer) of full dust control with a single application. Eventually, DustLess can be defeated by mixing with untreated materials such as fugitive/wind-born dust accumulation, micro-particle shear from traffic, washouts and rutting. When it’s time to reapply, it’s done at a much lower usage rate because there will already be residual DustLess once the initial (“thirsty”) treatment has been done.

DustLess has a sister-product, ArenaKleen®, which is specifically formulated for use in equestrian arenas or wherever deeper penetration is desired (many sand volleyball courts are treated with ArenaKleen instead of the more ‘topical’ DustLess product). Otherwise the two products feature nearly identical form, function and application techniques.

DustLess ships ready-to-use (RTU), no dilution or agitation is needed, and is easy to DIY apply. No pre-treatment is required; drier material is better than damp. It’s as simple as applying water. You can use a watering can for small projects, a gas or electric pump with garden hose sprayer, a water trailer or water truck. It does not gum up or damage the application equipment and can simply be rinsed out with water, if desired.

DustLess is typically applied at a rate of 0.02 to 0.04 gallons per square foot (SF) of dirt or gravel road. The heavier the application, the longer it will last and the deeper it will penetrate. We generally advise 275 gallons per 1000 lineal feet of 12-14’ roadway, or per 12,000-14,000 SF of parking area. A 5 gallon bucket can be ordered online to treat 125-250 SF. After the initial application, future treatments are at 50-60% of the initial application rate (e.g. 20,000 SF per 275 gallon IBC tote). DustLess is also available or in 55 gallon drums, or by tanker truck, up to 6,700 gallons.
