Moisture Protection From the Inside Out
MasonProof™ is a colorless, non-film-forming treatment of mineral substrates (masonry) that provides long-term water proofing to paver bricks, cinder block, stucco, plaster, adobe, cement, concrete foundations, driveways, bricks & mortar, grout and more. The substrate’s breathability, color and texture are not affected, making it perfect for Venetian, Santa Barbara, Old Spanish, and other stucco finishes. MasonProof (MP) is unique to the industry in that it continues working even if the surface becomes scratched or chipped. It’s not a surface sealer so it is not merely a cover or barrier, it’s nano-technology permeates and permanently seals masonry from capillary water intrusion. MasonProof protects structures and stone pathways from mildew, fungus, efflorescence, leaching, staining and scaling. The spalling corrosion of steel within reinforced concrete is reduced or eliminated. When applied to cinder block before priming & painting, MP reduces the primer coats required, offsetting materials cost while providing superior protection from water intrusion and resulting damages.
Engineers, construction contractors and builders deal with the destructive chemical reactions cement-based building materials suffer due mainly to the exposure to water, which acts as a reaction medium or solvent in this destruction. Film formers/barrier type technologies (coatings) have been widely used, but due to weathering and ultra violet exposure these coatings have limited lifespan and thus periodic reparative applications are required. This issue has been revolutionarily remediated with the all-inclusive protective properties of MasonProof.
Global Environmental Solutions MasonProof:
- Is not a film-former like other products on the market
- Is not a surface sealer like other products on the market
- Penetrates deeply into the masonry substrate, working from the inside out
- Provides permanent waterproofing protection
Nano sized MasonProof penetrates up to 5mm deep into the substrate and provides repellency into the pores of cementitious structures where other film formers like silicone resins, acrylic resins, and epoxy resins cannot penetrate. Because it functions at the microscopic level it does not eliminate the breathability of the treated structure.
It is simple to apply by spray, brush or roller to new or existing masonry structures. MasonProof is shipped in a liquid concentrate form and diluted at the job site with water. Depending on the porosity of the material being treated, the dilution ratio will be between 1:9 to 1:20 of MP:water. Higher dilution rates enable greater penetration of MP into the substrate. The treatment is repeated three times, wet-on-wet, to maximize depth of penetration. A test patch is recommended to determine penetration rates and actual coverage rates but roughly 60-100 SF per gallon of MP concentrate on porous blocks, 150-225 SF/Gal on brick, 120-210 SF/Gal for stucco or adobe. GES West is available to facilitate materials estimation and budgeting.
